PALLE.
When the founder of A Tavola and flour, eggs, water approached us to design their new food offering we were intrigued by the concept; this was to be a celebration of meatballs with traditional roots and a modern twist.
Palle (Italian for meatballs) is an exciting new food experience that has recently opened its doors at Tramsheds, Glebe.
We were excited to be involved in all aspects of the design including the branding, packaging, menu, website and interior design.
We loved the idea of creating a ‘meatball joint’ where lovers of meatballs come to engage in meatball discourse and share their vision for a meatball revolution.
This new go-to food destination is a place where people meet to enjoy all things balls. The language and tone of voice is playful and full of innuendo. The logo with its rounded lettering appears to have ascenders and descenders with balls attached. The secondary font is nostalgic and evocative of revolutionary graphics.
The recipes are rooted in the founder’s family history and as such the interior has hints of nostalgia with a contemporary overlay. Large scale bespoke terrazzo shapes are routed into the service counter to create impact and aspects of this graphic are utilised in the secondary graphics. Fluted, textured and painterly finishes complement one another.
Snippets of the interior are utilised in the food photography as they work together to create a holistic bold statement.
