Enough designers are interested in the centre. Monika Branagan designs for people that don’t need to fit in and like to stand out.
Each piece in Monika Branagan’s new collection Game Face is a show stopper.
game face
Ocean baths, grass tennis courts, fancy golfers and 1920s frou all contribute to the concept for the Game Face collection. It’s playful, dramatic, colourful and joyous.
Taking inspiration from Art Deco geometric prints, the hero print is blown up to a dramatic scale and printed on 100% organic cotton. Once again the bold prints in this collection are paired with solid colour to create a unique aesthetic. The obsession with high collars and exaggerated cuffs continues.
Tongue in cheek elements nod to the sporty theme and grid forms are abstracted from pool tiles and tennis nets. Large black and white shuttlecock graphics punch through with a cartoon feel.
The styling uses 2D elements to bring an added layer of whimsy to the collection.
Monika Branagan invites you to put on your
myths & cruise
The inspiration for this debut collection came from far away places and luxury travel. Monika Branagan envisaged herself travelling on a boat to another world and imagined herself a wardrobe.
Appropriately the two campaigns in this Collection have been called Myths & Cruise.
MYTHS celebrates abstract prints of oversized feathers, centaurs and flying pigs, and CRUISE showcases sailing illustrations, large spots and a warm colour palette. All graphic prints have been designed by Monika and all printed garments use biodegradable water based inks. The scallop is a repeating element across both campaigns. The styling is reminiscent of a Wes Anderson aesthetic merged with 60s design to create a fun, playful, attention-seeking debut collection.
